Plans are nothing; planning is everything
Sunday nights exist to prepare for the week. In our case 3 weeks. Last purchases have been made. The promise that everything will be ready to fly out the door to catch a train. Yes a train, not a plane or a boat a 3 trains. We are off to on a walking holiday, a a few days clambering the hills of Spain. A time or reflection, introspection with the harmony with nature around.
How do we start? On a bloody train, actually 3 trains. Yep. Simple Milton Keynes to London to Paris to Barcelona. Relaxing my arse!
Step 1. London transfer Euston to St Pancras, decision to yomp between stations or hussle through the tube with rucksacks big enough to do Everest!
Step 2. Eurostar check-in at St Pancras is so much fun. If we get on the train on time we can relax for a couple of hours (don't forget we gain an hour but not the time) then it Paris. Step 3. Paris. Not just Paris but a taxi run between Paris Nord and Paris Gare de Lyon, did I mention the tight connection window? Did I mention the taxi, Paris? Let's be positive. Step 4. Barcelona. Breath. The last train of the day we can relax its only 6 1/2 hours.
